I wasn't able to reproduce this, I used the same parameters and it worked for me. It could have been fixed by something else (rails upgrade?) Leaving this open in case it comes up again.

[PROJECT_ROOT]/vendor/gems/ruport-1.6.1/lib/ruport/formatter/pdf.rb not using ruport anymore
